Name: Credence
Boat Owner: Stewart & Jeanne Males
Designer: Richard Taylor
Builder: Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor designed and built Credence in his fathers garage in Glenorchy while still a teenager, taking three and a half years and launching her on the Domain in 1972. She is very much the result of the Tasmanian “can do” attitude built on a shoestring budget…..Richard today delights in pointing out the pennies used everywhere as washers, the result of discovering that equivalents would have cost two pence each! A subsequent owner added bulwarks enhancing the sheer and raised the deckhouse creating an aesthetically pleasing and workmanlike motor sailer. We brought our little Kaurie cutter Emma to the AWBF for many years but now in our seventies looked for a more sedate craft and have found Credence ideal and much admired.
