Hundreds of classic and modern wooden boats under sail
Hundreds of classic and modern wooden boats under sail parade past the Hobart foreshore from Taroona to Sullivans Cove, starting at 12:30 on Friday, the first day of the event. The Governor’s Launch, MV Egeria leads the way, followed by the tall ships James Craig, Young Endeavour, Bark Endeavour, One and All, Soren Larsen, Yukon, Lady Nelson, Windeward Bound, Julie Burgess and Rhona H.
The best viewing points for the Parade of Sail are from the Boardwalk at Wrest Point, the Alexandra Battery in Lower Sandy Bay or Kangaroo Bluff on the Eastern Shore. The boats will come inshore near the CSIRO Marine Laboratories at the end of Castray Esplanade. Weather and wind will determine their exact course.
