Types of jobs you might volunteer for include:
• office and marketing assistance (PC skills and organisation a plus!)
• docking and ashore parking of around 500 boats
• assisting with surveys of visitors to the Festival
• information booth and welcome guides
• photography and video footage
• boat registration and boat owner liaison during the Festival
• a variety of site management and event coordination roles
The best way to find out more about what’s available is to drop us an email with information about your skills, what sort of times you would like to work, and whether there are any particular aspects of the Festival you are interested in helping with.
Most of our volunteers work from the Festival offices in Salamanca and as well as providing volunteers with a work pass for the Festival and an item of merchandise we also host a volunteer thank-you party after the event. It’s a lot of fun being a volunteer with the Festival and also a chance to share the experience of being involved in a truly unique event.
Australian Wooden Boat Festival Inc is a not-for-profit organisation which relies on a small number of active Members as well as a large pool of volunteers to stage the most significant, and we think the best maritime festival in Australia.
